New Kingston, Jamaica – The Altamont Court Hotel was recently recognized by two international award-giving bodies in the hotelier industry. It won the “New Millennium Award” in the 32nd International Award for Tourist, Hotel, and Catering Industry as awarded by the Trade Leaders Club in Madrin, Spain. It is likewise included in the current list of nominees for the World Luxury Awards.

The 32nd International Award for Tourist, Hotel, and Catering Industry, is an award granted by an association of over 7,000 members found across 120 countries. Its scope of coverage encompasses all aspects of the production and services sectors.

Meanwhile, the World Luxury Hotel Awards accounts for all categories in the luxury hotel industry, including lodges and resorts. It takes into account a number of different factors, such as facilities & service excellence, exceptional food, attention to detail, beautiful scenic environment, effective management, all of which are part and parcel of being a legendary hotel. As such, nominees, finalists, and award winners set the benchmark for other luxury hotels in achieving recognition for their world class facilities and service excellence.

The Altamont Court Hotel was originally purchased as a set of 12 apartments in 1982 by principal owner and 2006 Jamaica Observer Business Leader nominee Terence Jarrett. It has since expanded significantly, and now boasts of 58 superbly appointed rooms that cater mostly to the business travelers. It is the only Jamaican hotel to have received recognition in both awards thus far.
